Episode 103: David Driver — County Baseball, MLB Beat Writing, & Baseball from Tidewater to the Shenandoah

David Driver is a life-long baseball fan born and raised in Virginia. He was the sports editor for papers in both Baltimore and Arlington, Virginia for several years. His seven year span covering the Nationals for the Washington Times included their magical 2019 World Series win. We chat about what it is like to cover a team daily, and how it provides some different perspectives on players that casual fans may overlook.

We also discuss the book that David and Lacy Lusk co-authored: “From Tidewater to the Shenandoah: Snapshots from Virginia’s Rich Baseball Legacy”, which details the unique prowess of Virginia’s as a baseball powerhouse.
