Red Sox overcome big deficit to win on a walk-off homer after an Orioles fielding blunder
I attended the Red Sox-Orioles game Saturday April 1, 2023 … Beautiful weather despite early April date … warm (60 degrees Fahrenheit) … Sox pitching gave up a big lead to the O’s early. But the Sox chipped away and their bullpen was solid. Game SHOULD have ended with a routine catch in left field in the top of the 9th, but Ryan McKenna let the ball drop from his glove, giving the Red Sox a hint of hope. Newly acquired Adam Duvall hit a shot to the left field green monster that barely qualified as a HR — game winning hit that went a long way to endearing Duvall with the tough Boston fan base. A great night of baseball.
