Saw “Billy Martin: The Man. The Myth. The Manager.” early this morning via Amazon Prime.

Really, really good, with a lot of laugh out loud moments.

It was said that it was the last sit-down interview that he had given before he passed away in a 1989 Christmas Day car accident.

I have a list of all of the Texas state historical markers that have baseball on them, but just haven’t navigated them into any travel yet.

I’ve read some books that were written in chronological order that ended up being pretty dry.

“One More for the White Rat”, about the Cardinals’ pennant chase in 1987, was actually a pretty decent read.

Then again, the book covered events that were in the “sweet spot” of my baseball fandom (18-24).

If you haven’t seen “Fastball” before (it originally came out in 2016), it is really well done and, best of all, it ends with Nolan Ryan.

Even though I don’t keep up with all of the happenings of Japanese professional baseball today, like many do, this first edition 1990 book, “You Gotta Have Wa” was entertaining and insightful.

Picked it up recently at a Half Price Books here in the greater Houston area for $3.

First two games of 2026 for me were on Saturday in the greater Houston area as Seminole State College (OK) defeated San Jacinto College North at Andy Pettitte Park at John Ray Harrison Field, 16-4, and Ranger College beat Wharton County Junior College in eight innings, 13-3, at Sugar Land’s Constellation Field.

Went to a public school playoff game Wednesday night in Lufkin, Texas and saw this marker for former major leaguer Pete Runnels, who spent 14 years in the major leagues with the Washington Senators, Boston Red Sox and the Houston Colt 45’s. He was born in Lufkin and went to Lufkin High School, which hosted the playoff game.
