									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;ve read some books that were written in chronological order that ended up being pretty dry.</p>
<p>&#8220;One More for the White Rat&#8221;, about the Cardinals&#8217; pennant chase in 1987, was actually a pretty decent read. </p>
<p>Then again, the book covered events that were in the &#8220;sweet spot&#8221; of my baseball fandom (18-24).</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Even though I don&#8217;t keep up with all of the happenings of Japanese professional baseball today, like many do, this first edition 1990 book, &#8220;You Gotta Have Wa&#8221; was entertaining and insightful.</p>
<p>Picked it up recently at a Half Price Books here in the greater Houston area for $3.  </p>
<p>Consider it a steal!</p>

<p>Never knew until reading the Branca book, which I just finished today, February 3, that it later had been revealed the Giants used a telescope in the outfield at the Polo Grounds starting in July of the 1951 season that keyed a&hellip;</p>

One of the things from reading this that I never realized was that until a specific incident involving Tebbetts, photographers were allowed on the field during the game &#8211; up until 1954 in the National League.</p>
