I’ve read some books that were written in chronological order that ended up being pretty dry.

“One More for the White Rat”, about the Cardinals’ pennant chase in 1987, was actually a pretty decent read.

Then again, the book covered events that were in the “sweet spot” of my baseball fandom (18-24).

Even though I don’t keep up with all of the happenings of Japanese professional baseball today, like many do, this first edition 1990 book, “You Gotta Have Wa” was entertaining and insightful.

Picked it up recently at a Half Price Books here in the greater Houston area for $3.

Just finished this book about the life of Birdie Tebbetts. Great, fun read. One of the things from reading this that I never realized was that until a specific incident involving Tebbetts, photographers were allowed on the field during the game – up until 1954 in the National League.

Currently reading a book about the Pine Tar incident. About 80 pages to go. The book goes into the history of the Royals vs. Yankees rivalry and does a good job discussing the different roles of all the major players in the incident.
